Recreational Burning Permit
A burning permit grants the individual permit holder to burn small amounts of leaves, clippings, brush, and other clean untreated-unpainted wood as long as weather conditions do not pose a fire hazard. Burn permit regulations are authorized through the MN DNR. For up-to-date information on permit conditions visit the DNR Website.
Burning permits are available to St. Francis residents for $10.00. Permits can be purchased at St. Francis City Hall. Any fire larger than 3’ x 3’ requires a burning permit. Permits are valid for 3 days with burning hours from 6 PM – 6 AM. For questions, please call the Rum Rive Fire District at 763-753-2334 or email admin@rumriverfire.org.
The fire department may request to inspect your burn pile before a permit is issued.
The fee for a Burn Permit is $10.00 as adopted in the City Fee Schedule.
